Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ohio

Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ohio (LOMO), is a Lutheran non-profit outdoor ministry organization with three sites – Camp Luther (est. 1940), Camp Mowana (est. 1941), and Lutheran Memorial Camp (est. 1948) in addition to an Ohio state-wide outreach program that is an extension of congregational ministry. We are a ministry of Ohio’s three ELCA Synods – Northwestern, Northeastern, and Southern.

Through the four programs, LOMO provides camping experiences/programs for youth, young-adults, adults/older adults, and families. LOMO provides close to $50,000 annually in campership (camp funding assistance) funds – LOMO believes that no one should be prevented from attending camp because of financial concerns. Over 50% of attendees for various year-round programs are not Lutheran – LOMO is a ministry for everyone. Regardless of who attends, a majority of participants (if not a campership recipient) pay only about 70% of actual costs.

Through the Outreach programs (day camps in congregations), between 60-95% of the youth from throughout the community are non-Lutheran.
